Maison Francis Kurkdjian is releasing two new perfumes - Petit Matin and Grand Soir that will substitute Cologne Pour le Matin / Soir. Don't be sorry, Petit Matin and Grand Soir are rocking all the way and are even better to me than the previous colognes.

Perfume & Wine Pairing - Habit Rouge with Château du Moulin Rouge

Perfume and wine - perfect match!

Chateau du Moulin Rouge bottles with Guerlain Habit Rouge and Moresque Contessa

I am starting a new process on my BL'eauOG - pairing of perfumes with wines. I am completely overwhelmed by organoleptics - combination of smell and taste. It all started when I realized that I have a sensation in mouth when tasting a good, opulent, red wine. It was always all accompanied by a good perfume on my skin and that is how the idea was born. When drinking Château du Moulin Rouge, I see Guerlain Habit Rouge and Moresque Contessa as the company.

Parfumerie Générale boutique in Paris

A new fragrant paradise

Pierre Guillaume boutique - 13, Jean Jacques Rousseau, Paris 1er

One of my favorite perfumers, Pierre Guillaume, is opening the doors of his flagship boutique in Paris. He has made his breakthrough with Parfumerie Générale line which is admired by perfume fans, bloggers, connaisseurs, but also, by his concurrence in the industry.

April Aromatics Tempted Muse & Calling All Angels

Super natural perfumery

April Aromatics Tempted Muse
I didn't have many opportunities to try natural, organic perfumery. April Aromatics is an excellent one because it is highly appreciated by many perfume lovers. It's very difficult for my nose to get used to the smell of natural odors that are more raw and powerful than the usual ones in "traditional" perfumery. Organic and "traditional" perfumery are two separate worlds.

Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540

Velvet curtains open and the show begins

Baccarat Rouge, Francis Kurkdjian by BL'eauOG
Yes, it's true that perfumes are the best memory triggers that you can imagine. I am stunned how Baccarat Rouge affects me and how many emotions do I get from. I think that Francis Kurkdjian himself heard many times how scents are affecting people emotionally and that gives him drive. Baccarat affects me like few perfumes do. I am just like - keep it going, keep it spritzing!

Eris Parfums; Franco-American combination

Born from a passion

Eris Perfumes collection

Just like me, she is/was a perfume blogger and a writer. Now, she has a line of her own perfumes made by a Master perfumer. Just as I want too. Barbara Herman is her name and she is known as the writer of Yesterday's perfume - a blog for vintage perfume maniacs. Eris is a result of love and passion and that's why I like it the most.

Special guest - Zoran Kurelić reviews BeauFort triptych

I am bringing you something new and fresh this time! I have many friends that are into perfumes, but only few are crazy as hell and on fire when it comes to very good perfumes. The author of this review is very particular - please welcome Zoran Kurelić. Zoran is a full-time professor at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Political Science who graduated with his Master thesis at the London School of Economics and was a professor at The New School in New York. One of his specialties is political theory, so I warmly welcome you to Google his articles. He was my mentor during my Master thesis and that is how we met, but we became friends because of perfumes, of course. We were both on fire when we heard about BeauFort and that's why I asked him to write his own, independent review of this cool, English perfume brand. I thank him for this appearance on BL'eauOG.

Smoke for the soul - BeauFort 1805 Tonnerre image

A long time ago, in the early 1980s, I had a vision of Hell while I was listening 23 Skidoo’s The Culling is Coming. I thought I unwillingly tuned in to some ancient mythical vision but a few years later when the war in former Yugoslavia started I realized it was a prophetic vision. The problem with visions is that you find out that they were prophetic only retrospectively. The same is with art and dreams. Yatagan was my perfume at the time.

Ramon Monegal Floresencia

The beauty of floral bouquet

Ramon Monegal Ion Musk & Floresencia
No, no, no, I told to myself that no classic floral bouquet could captivate me so much. I returned back from Barcelona with new love and new masterpiece.

I did a trip to Barcelona recently and that was an ultimate pleasure for me because I have my "second family" over there. I spent beautiful time with Ramon and his family exploring the beauty of fragrances. An ultimate floral bouquet has been found - Floresencia. I couldn't believe that I will appreciate classic floral bouquet so much as I do with Floresencia!

This bottle collects the most beautiful feminine flowers - sambac jasmine, sweet rose, peonies, gardenia, magnolia that are layered on the bed of soft, white musk.

It soon became the favorite of my girlfriend and that's how my admiration for the floral begun. Truly wonderful masterpiece!

Sensual & Decadent by Laurent Mazzone Parfums

LM - the manufacture of sensuousness

LM Sensual & Decadent
It's always like a dream to smell new things from the Laurent Mazzone's house. I expect a lot, but always receive a lot from his creations. The last one that is in my mind is his Sensual & Decadent, the perfume that sings with thousand creamy and vanillish voices. There is some captivating softness about this creation.

Le Musc & La Peau Parfumerie Générale by Pierre Guillaume

A fantasy alchemy by Pierre Guillaume

Le Musc & La Peau - 4.1 reworked edition
His perfumes are constant and unbeatable inspiration to me. There is some kind of magic in his numbered collection that makes me spellbound. This is the latest creation of this independent perfumer. He reworked his masterpiece Musc Maori 04 into this sensual creation.

Sel de Vetiver - The Different Company

The divine perfume of Deity!

Sel de Vetiver by The Different Company
I can't stop thinking about this perfume. I am fascinated. I smelled it for the first time in January this year in The Different Company shop in Parisian Marais. I am still very honored and well remember of that beautiful afternoon wit Sophie and Luc Gabriel, the people behind The Different Company. I smelled all the line and this perfume doesn't give me peace any more.

Evody Onde 7

The per-fume based on honey, ginger, tonka, labdanum

Evody Onde 7
It is nice to see how this perfume house develops each year. One step to another and voilà, Evody became very serious and prominent house with beautiful collection of perfumes. Except the fact that two women are leading this brand, there is also something "arty-frenchy" inside with refined touch.

Ramon Monegal candle - Chocolate Orange

The best gourmand candle I found so far!

Ramon Monegal candles - Chocolate Orange by BL'eauOG
When I was in Barcelona's Ramon Monegal boutique recently, I was walking and smelling all around. When you enter, there is a lobby with perfumes, but in behind, special space with candles where I was stuck for a long time.
When I talked with Ramon, he was explaining how difficult is to make a good quality candle. The process is much more harder than I thought. Inside of his candles are paraphines that make the wax compound compact and solid which enables good diffusion of natural oils that he puts inside.

Chocolate Orange is a beautiful gourmand candle, translating the literal smell of chocolate, cacao and orange in reality. In Paris, I was eating orange pralines in chocolate and this candles reminds me of that deliciousness. It is very opulent, thick, eatable. To me, perfect evocation of patisserie where you can't choose a treat for yourself because everything looks beautiful and tasty! Yum!

Parfumerie Générale Indian Wood & Bouquet Massaï

Reworks of Pierre Guillaume are more delicious than before

Indian Wood, theme N° 11
In many articles, I praised Pierre Guillaume as one of the most talented perfumers today. I mean it because he just confirms it with every new creation. There is some touch that is so refined and raw at the same time. Perhaps, that is the key why I like him so much.

Interview: Carlos Huber, the creative force behind Arquiste

Interview with charismatic man, Carlos Huber

Arquiste fragrances
Those perfumes were captivating from the first moment to me. Now that I am out of Paris, I miss the chance to sniff them every day. It is the first perfume brand with strong images behind some creation. Later, that was introduced by Atelier Cologne who is having set of inspirational photos for perfumes. I am very happy to present you the interview with the man behind Arquiste, Mister Carlos Huber.
